    Limitaciones y potencialidades de la industria manufacturera textil de la República Dominicana

    This paper presents exploratory and descriptive work that analyzes the textile manufacturing industry of the Dominican Republic under the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the United States, Central America, and the Dominican Republic (CAFTA-DR). For this, the principal current theories of integration in Latin America were identified, and used to analyze the evolution of the textile sector, the current agreements in the sector, the subscription of the CAFTA-DR, the global textile industry, and the sector conditions of the industry in the Dominican Republic that were compared to those of Honduras since within the region Honduras is the most competitive country in the sector and a member of the agreement.

    This paper explores the settlement and structure of the political systems of El Salvador and the Dominican Republic in a perspective comparison and covers aspects such as the consolidation of its national States, the international interventions in its internal matters, the organization of the government and of the territory. Also the political-administrative institutions, the independence of powers, the electoral system, the role of the political parties and the civic participation in the national political development.
