Toda comunidad presenta un entramado con diversas vertientes que moldean y configuran distintas costumbres, marcando así su ritmo de vida. Ciertas etapas aparecen marcadas por quiebres históricos que llevan a un permanente desafío acerca de cómo y de qué manera afrontar el porvenir. El artículo propone una mirada comunicacional en torno a la relación social, cultural y política entre un partido rural (San Cayetano) y el sistema ferroviario. Explorar los fundamentos y las consecuencias de la fundación y desaparición del ferrocarril permitirá dar cuenta de distintos fenómenos con un sostenido peso en la historia del pueblo. Allí pueden mencionarse las marcas del tiempo transcurrido, la transformación social y espacial del partido, la re-configuración comunicacional de la zona, etc. Los espacios simbólicos del pueblo, poseedores de una fuerte identidad, se transforman en los lugares donde, implícita o explícitamente, se producen resistencias al olvido y a la indiferencia socio-política emanada por los cambios de época. Las concepciones muestran puntos a destacar en el que invariable e inevitablemente el tiempo es un nexo importante: la imagen de un próspero pasado, la incertidumbre del presente y el temor a lo que puede acarrear el futuro.

Community as a whole presents a framework with various aspects that mold and shape different customs, marking his pace of life. Certain stages are marked by historic breakthroughs that lead to a permanent challenge about how and in what way face the future. The article proposes a communicational look with its social, cultural and political relationship between a rural space (San Cayetano) and the rail system. Explore the grounds and consequences of the foundation and disappearance of the railway will make it possible to realize different phenomena with a sustained weight in the history of the town. There include the brands of the time which has elapsed, the social and spatial transformation of the region, the communicational re-configuration of the area, etc. Symbolic spaces of the people, holders of a strong identity, are transformed into places where, implicitly or explicitly, produce resistance to oblivion and the socio-political indifference issued by the changes of time. Conceptions show points to highlight in which invariable and inevitably the time is an important link: the image of a happy past, the uncertainty of the present and fear of what may result in the future.
